A typical example of the MILD technique is this:The MILD technique is a method of recognizing that you are dreaming. While falling asleep you should intently repeat to yourself a phrase similar to ‘i am dreaming, i am dreaming, i am dreaming’. This should be the single thought that is in your mind, and the last thought before you fall asleep. Now image yourself in a dream, and you see an obvious dreamsign. After which you should recognize this is a dream and that you will become lucid. You should repeat to yourslelf ‘I Am Dreaming’ until it is the last thought on your mind before you fall asleep. Hopefully you will become lucid in your dream.iBut what does this actually mean?
Basically it is going to sleep with the intent to remember you are dreaming, do a reality check and become lucid.You should go to bed and get in a comfortable positionfocus on a phrase similar to ‘i will remember i’m dreaming’ or ‘i amd dreaming’ it is up to you, and repeat it in your mind. Once you have set this intent to remember you are dreaming you should visualise yourself in a dream…it could be in your room or in another familiar location, now picture yourself remembering it is a dream, doing a reality check and becoming lucid, remember your phrase you set. now go over it a couple of times in your head, and let it be the last thing on your mind as you are falling to sleep.
Now if you have managed to set your intentions you should remember at some point you are dreaming, so do your reality check and it will fail and you will become lucid. You will realise that you are dreaming and be able to control your dream body. You will have all of your sences and be able to interact with the dream world. With practice and time you will learn how to hone these skills to take control of the dream environment yourself. You will be able to go anywhere you can imagine anyway you like, go find a television and jump into a movie, you could be the terminator rampaging through streets. Instead you can have a go at flying instead of walking. When you get better try flying into space… go see what is outside the edge of the universe.. so you can see, with a little imagination you can come up with ideas to try in your lucid dreams.
